Year 10 Show Off Enterprise Skills at Hogarths Hotel
This week, Year 10 BTEC students visited Hogarths, a beautifully restored hotel in Dorridge.
Lewis Rollason-O'Connor, Agyapal Jutla, Rais Khan, Ria Kumari, Adam Hussain, Harji Kalsi, Nourayam Boulhaia, Manroop Sandhu, Caitlin Worrall, Noah Eardley and Thierry Fadiya were tasked with researching different holiday destinations and to design a new holiday package. They chose a targeted market and planned activities for the potential visitors to take part in.
The event ended with a “show and tell “presentation to Hogarth employees. The themes students had to choose from were a 'Couple’s Quality Time' weekend, a 'Family Festive Fun' package and 'Big Birthday' celebrations.
After a very difficult decision, it was decided that the best presentation was Thierry's and Lewis' romantic themed package as they produced good graphics, made excellent use of all the facilities the hotel had to offer and used enterprise skills throughout the whole day.
Robert Elliot, Director of Sales at Hogarth said that he would like to "...complement the students on their listening skills whilst on the tour of the hotel and for using the information in their presentations".
Manroop and Nourayam added, “We have learnt that it is important to listen carefully if you are creating a bespoke package for customers who wish to use the hotel facilities at Hogarths. Thank you Hogarths and the Skills Builder Partnership for organising this visit as it will help us with our BTEC Business coursework".
