Aspiring Year 7 Students Visit Cambridge University

Forty one aspiring year 7 students visited Clare College, Cambridge University on Wednesday 18th January.

Forty one aspiring year 7 students visited Clare College, Cambridge University on Wednesday.

They met with Anthony Fitzpatrick, the University’s School’s Liaison Officer who spoke about university life, the status of a Cambridge degree and the application process. He emphasized that anyone can win a place at Cambridge University if they are talented enough and urged our students not to be put off by the university’s elitist image.

The students toured the colleges with university undergraduates who were friendly and answered lots of questions. The university provided our students with a sumptuous lunch followed by a visit to the university’s Zoology Museum.

Our students returned truly inspired, feeling they have been given valuable insight into how they might, one day, might enter one of our most famous educational establishments.

Photographs of this visit can be viewed in The Gallery on this website.
