Best Practice Shared With Schools in Czech Republic
A delegation of school leaders from the Czech Republic have visited our Post 16 centre to learn from our practice here in school. The International Centre for Excellence in Community Schools
contacted President Kennedy School to arrange the visit.
Hosted by Post 16 College Director, Mr Mort, the delegation toured the Bridge, the Gateway and our Post 16 centre. The delegation from the Czech Republic are part of a Czech government funded scheme, developed in collaboration with the British Council, which is focused on 'Active Citizenship'. The colleagues from the Czech Republic were particularly interested in research into how President Kennedy students engage with the local community and they were very impressed with what they saw while at the school. They observed lessons focused on literacy and oracy in Year 7 and Year 8 and met Year 13
Student Council Leaders Tam Gulati, Nikita Rai and Natalie Cook, who discussed our links with Coventry and Warwick Universities and programmes such as 'Pathways to Law' and 'Realising Opportunities'.
