Year 11 Student Wins National Photography Competition
Year 11 student photographer Hayden Porter is back with his Banky-inspired ‘PEACE’ collection. Previously Hayden secured first place in both the Coventry area and the West Midlands Rotary International competitions. Having progressed to the national finals Hayden’s work astounded the judges, and he won FIRST PLACE NATIONALLY!!!
Next year, Hayden will attend Post 16 here at President Kennedy School, where he wishes to study Science. Hayden commented, “I really enjoy Science, but I will still continue to do photography in my spare time, sell my work in the near future and maybe even have my own gallery show some day.”
Hayden’s photography teacher Mrs Gallagher said, “I am very proud of Hayden's achievement. He has worked extremely hard and it is a pleasure to have taught him. He’s a very talented photography student with excellent ideas and skills. I hope he continues to develop his photography in the future. Congratulations Hayden.” Hayden said: “Mrs Gallagher advised me to enter the competition, so I thought I would give it a go. Mrs Gallagher has been my teacher for two years now and has taught me everything I know about photography, which is why I would just like to say a big thank for all of her support and encouragement. I didn’t think my work would get this far, from Coventry, to Midlands, and now National, I can’t believe it… I am so happy.”
