Unprecedented Turnout To Open Evening

On Tuesday evening, President Kennedy School opened its doors to prospective year 7 students from and their parents and carers. Despite the rather stormy weather, the school reception area was packed by 3.45pm and staff were fully engaged in conversations about this year’s outstanding GCSE and A level results,

Mr Thomas addressed parents in small groups. He was accompanied by students who described in their own words what it is like to be a student at President Kennedy School. Many parents commented how well our students spoke and congratulated them personally.

Parents, carers and students toured the Bridge with a member of staff and student ambassadors, engaging in a variety of different activities ranging from chemistry experiments with science to bag making with technology. They were also treated to cricket and netball displays in the gym and sports hall, musical performances and range of stalls including clubs and societies, the Local Authority Choices Adviser and uniform suppliers Cat Ballou.

It was an extremely busy and productive evening. Feedback from Parents and Carers who attended our sessions has been overwhelmingly positive and many have booked appointments to come back and visit during school hours.

Any parents and carers who have children who are moving up to Secondary School next September but who missed the open sessions can book appointments to tour the school by calling reception on 024 7666 1416.
