Kymrun's Moment To Shine

Kymrun Dhami, a Post 16 student, carried the Olympic Flame majestically through crowded streets in Solihull. Despite an early start (7.45am Sunday morning) the route was packed with cheering well wishers including Kymrun's family, Mrs Petrak (our Olympics Co-ordinator) and may more of us from President Kennedy School.

Kymrun was nominated by her older sister who attended President Kennedy School and is now studying law at university. All Kymrun's family were there cheering her on with colourful homemade banners.

Kymrun, flanked by London 2012 organisers, was given a full Police escort along with several sponsorship floats. She proudly jogged with the Coventry made torch gleaming in the July sunshine held high for all to see. Crowds lined the route, and she was cheered all the way. Many of us ran beside her to get photographs and keep sight of the flame.

Kymrun will be putting in an appearance at the school's Community Day on July 21st. See you there!
