Our Best Ever A Level Results!

Over 200 students received their A level (A2 and AS) results at President Kennedy School (our largest cohort ever). The school has secured its best ever set of A level examination results. The pass rate this year has climbed to 97.7% at A2 and 40% of all grades awarded at A2 have been graded A*-B. The vast majority of our students secured their first choice place at university.

31% of students studying the A level extended project (a project which must be individually selected and researched by the student requiring independent study beyond the A level syllabus) were awarded either an A* or A grade.

Significantly, 77% of grades awarded to President Kennedy School students studying vocational A level qualifications (including Business, ICT and Applied Science) are A* grades; 100% have secured A*, A or B grades. The vast majority of these students will move on to study vocational degrees at university.

Over two thirds of President Kennedy School’s students now progress to study within the school’s Post 16 after GCSE. This reflects the significant number of President Kennedy School’s students who achieve at least 5 good GCSEs including English and maths. The increase in numbers is also due in part to the school’s introduction of additional vocational A levels at Post 16 two years ago which have proved popular with students.

Many students have exceeded their own expectations and achieved a set of As and Bs. These include:

Leah Clark who has achieved A* in Sociology, A* in the Extended Project, A English Literature and A in History. he will study English at Birmingham University.

Anum Hameed who has achieved A* in the Extended Project, A in Maths, A in Biology and B in Chemistry and will study Medicine at Birmingham University.

Jessica Bayton-Timms who has achieved A* in politics, A* in the Extended Project, A in English Literature and A in History and will study History at Loughborough University.

Tamana Gulati who has achieved A* in English Literature, A* in the Extended Project, A in History and A in Psychology and will move up to study at Warwick University.

Jason Goodman who has achieved A* in Psychology, A in Maths and B in Physics and will study Maths at Bristol University.

At AS level (awarded at the end of year 12) the school has secured its highest ever pass rate (well over 90%) and over 40% have achieved A*-B grades.

Leader of Post 16, Nick Mort commented, “this is another ground breaking year here at President Kennedy School. This is our largest ever cohort and we have secured our best ever set of results. I am delighted that so many of our students have exceeded their expectations achieving all A*s, As and Bs and the results awarded to those studying vocational subjects at A level are exceptional. Well done to everyone, we are proud of you all.”
