Year 7 Visit Paris
On Saturday 24th May, 43 Year 7 students woke up at 6am, buzzing with excitement and in anticipation of their trip to Paris. By the time the coach arrived at the school gates, everyone was wide awake and looking forward to a great holiday. We left at 7am and after a long drive and an exciting trip on the ferry, we finally arrived at our first hotel not far from Disneyland at about 10pm.
We woke up in the morning to start a full day at Disneyland Paris. Luckily for us, the weather was great. There were some fantastic rides and lots of good shops and cafes. At the end of the day, we went back to the hotel and fell into bed exhausted.
The next day our coach driver, Jim, took us on a tour of Paris. Jim was an excellent guide. We saw the Arc de Triomphe, the Opera, the Louvre and much, much more. Unfortunately, it was rather rainy, but we stayed nice and dry inside the coach. We stopped at the Eiffel Tower for a photo shoot, and then got back on the road. The next stage of our adventure was a boat ride which was wonderful. Along the River Seine we appreciated lots sites such as Notre Dame, as well as other equally impressive Parisian architecture.
In the afternoon, Jim drove us to Poitiers and then to our next hotel which was just a short walk from Futuroscope Park. The hotel was great with lovely big rooms and delicious food.
The final day in Paris was fantastic. We had a full day at Futuroscope, enjoying the rides and the different 3D and 4D experiences. We had so much fun and most of us got wet from the rides, but the sun was shining to keep us warm. We went back to the hotel for dinner before getting changed to go back to the Park for a spectacular laser show.
Everyone was tired but happy on the journey home. We all had so much news to tell our families about our once-in-a-lifetime adventure. It was a fantastic trip and not only did I have a great time but I also made lots of new friends! I’ll definitely be going back to Paris if I get the chance!
