Enterprising Gateway Girls Go Into Business
As part of the national competition “Tenner Month”, four year 8 budding entrepreneurs have been lent £10 each to start their own jewellery business making and selling necklaces and Mother’s Day coasters.
At the end of the month, the girls will pay back the initial £40 loan and all profit made will be
donated to the charities Zoë’s Place and Water Aid.
With the help of technology teacher Miss Patel, the girls have been able to design and create many original pieces of jewellery including birdcage, moustache, batman symbols and butterfly necklaces.
The girls would like to say thank you to Miss Patel for helping them to make their ideas an actual saleable product, and also another thank you to Mrs Petrak for assisting with sales and arranging the business loan. They are both truly appreciated.
