Year 7 are 'Out of this World' at the National Space Centre

This week, Year 7 students travelled with the Science Department to the National Space Centre near Leicester. The visit is a significant part of the Year 7 Space project, and gives our students an inspiring insight into the application of physics in the real world.

“Looking through the telescope and  seeing the stars close up was amazing!” Chloe, Year 7 Student

Students visited the iconic Rocket Tower and the UK’s largest domed planetarium along with inspiring galleries crammed full of space suits, rockets, satellites and meteorites. The day was full of breath taking discovery and interactive learning for our students, who will use this experience to apply their knowledge learnt in the classroom.

“I really enjoyed learning how rockets work and setting them off  and it was great finding out more about astronauts.” Ryan, Year 7 Student

“I  really enjoyed finding out about the different planets.” Anjali, Year 7 Student
