Post 16 Sports Students Impress CCFC Coaches

President Kennedy School’s P.E. Department has secured an excellent package of football specific qualifications for twelve of our Post 16 Sports students.  This is the start of a long term partnership between Coventry City Football Club, Birmingham County Football Association and President Kennedy School.

President Kennedy School’s P.E. Department has secured an excellent package of football specific qualifications for twelve of our Post 16 Sports students.  This is the start of a long term partnership between Coventry City Football Club, Birmingham County Football Association and President Kennedy School.  This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to develop leadership skills and community engagement along with some extremely useful contacts.

During the last few weeks, Paul Reynolds, Disability Manager, from Sky Blues In The Community Programme, has been working with students in school. Students have learned how to organise and run training sessions for able bodied and impaired children. Students have learned deaf signing and techniques teaching football to the blind.

Paul, who works with football squads up to and including national level, is “delighted” with the attitude and aptitude of our students. He explained that our students may choose to progress to study Sports Science after school “but the importance of making contacts in the world of football remains invaluable for securing a career in the sport.”

Once completed our students will have "preferential volunteer status" for future prestigious events at the Ricoh Arena and across Birmingham.
