Year 7 Students Meet Award Winning Author, Sita Brahmachari

Year 7 have been taking part in the Coventry Inspiration Book Awards 2014, and have been lucky enough to meet one of the nominated authors, Sita Brahmachari. “Jasmine Skies” is the second book that Sita has written and the book has been nominated in the ‘Read it or Else’ category of the Coventry Inspiration Book Awards 2014. Her first book “Artichoke Hearts” won the Waterstones’ Children's Book prize last year.

Nicola, a Year 7 student said “Sita read out parts of her 2 books to students and showed us the book trailer to her award winning book “Artichoke Hearts”. The parts of the stories she read were about the character’s seeing ghosts, and she described the setting and characters. Sita is a very good story-teller and got the audience involved with the stories. Books were available to buy and we had them signed by Sita.” Both Sita’s books are available to borrow from the School Library, and you can get involved in the Coventry Inspiration Book Awards 2014 by visiting - www.coventry.gov.uk/bookawards to read comments and to vote for the various shortlists.
