Smart Learners Give Back to Local Community
Published 12/01/22Here at Smart Learner driving school, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint, hence our Going Green Project! Throughout 2021/2022, we plan to take steps towards becoming a sustainable and eco-friendly company.
Smart Learner Driving School has estimated that we release approximately 10 tons of CO2e into the atmosphere, per instructor.

We currently have 50 instructors, as a result, we emit around 500 tons of CO2e into our atmosphere! In order to combat this and offset our carbon emissions, SmartLearner will plant 10 trees per instructor. This is as a tree absorbs 1 tonne of CO2e per lifetime.
We are a business that strives for a cleaner, greener, and better future.

List of people in attendance along with Deputy Head of President Kennedy School, Mrs Rooke were:
Tommy Sandhu, Darryn Majury, Rafiel Aguila and Nuneaton Lions Club members

An Audience with Jeff Kinney ~Author of the 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' Books
Published 08/12/21This week some of our Year 7 students had the opportunity to see “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” author Jeff Kinney during a live on-line virtual event. Jeff is currently in the UK to promote his new Wimpy Kid book “Big Shot”.
During the event, Jeff talked about how the funny things that happened to him as a child which inspired him to create the character Greg Heffley, and, how a lot of the things Greg does in the books actually happened to him.
Not only does Jeff write the Wimpy Kid books – but he also draws all of the illustrations himself. He originally wanted to be a newspaper cartoonist, but was told that he wasn’t good enough so he became a writer instead.
The event was a fun experience and Jeff Kinney was very entertaining. At the end of the event the students got to see a sneak peak of the new Disney animated 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' film that will be out soon.

World Class Schools' Quality Mark Essay Writing Competition
Published 15/11/21After a victorious previous year for President Kennedy School in the World Class Schools’ Quality Mark Essay Writing Competition in 2020, the annual competition returned this July for our next cohort of students.
This writing competition gives World Class students the opportunity to challenge themselves with a piece of writing centred around an intellectually provocative theme that directly affects their lives.
This year, children's author Dan Freedman created the following essay title 'How much can motivation from parents, or the important adults in your life, help or hinder your success?'.
The role of parents, teachers and trusted adults in the lives of children is a big theme in Dan Freedman’s books. His latest novel, 'Unstoppable', revolves around the relationship of a father with his twins and explores the impact he has on their ultimate success, or lack thereof.
You can find this in our school library if you wish to read it!
After months of enthusiasm and determination, the following students have produced personal, sophisticated, and perceptive responses to the essay question. It has been a pleasure to read them all!
Firstly, I would like to say an enormous well done to the following students from Years 8, 9 and 10: Jessica Berry, Julia Puzio, Mithula Pushpamohan, Cordellia Akata and Michael Akata. All of you should be incredibly proud of the work that you have produced.
I can confirm that essays written by the following students from both Years 8 and 9 - Finlay Lomas, Abshara Piratheeban and Arya Bassi - were formally submitted in the hope that President Kennedy School will come out on top once more.
World Class Students make World Class Schools!
