President Kennedy School College Structure
The college system supports the academic progress, personal development and well-being of students within each year group. Each college includes a specialist team of staff which provides wrap-around care, expertise and knowledge specific to the stage in the student’s school career. The college is supported by a team of dedicated tutors, who deliver an extended tutor period, designed at building strong positive relationships between the tutor and their tutees. This extended tutor time also provides a well-planned, age appropriate and responsive tutor curriculum, which ensures that PRSHE and the college curriculum is delivered.
The college also provides a range of enrichment experiences through supporting charities, fundraising activities, college councils discussions and taking part in various sporting and college competitions, all which take place throughout the year. On entry to the school students belong to The Bridge our Year 7 college. Each year, students are supported in their transition and move up to a new college. At the end of year 7 they move up to the Gateway, a college which specialises in the needs of our Year 8 students which builds on the strong foundations of the Bridge . Each college provides the level of support and guidance and academic rigour required at each and every stage of the student’s development.
