National Orchestra For All "Music in the Making"

Year 7 students recently took part in a unique programme that gives students the opportunity to develop ensemble music making.

Nine Year 7 students performed with a 32 piece orchestra at the Belgrade Theatre and a 120 piece Symphony Orchestra at the at Cecil Sharpe house in London. They performed pieces by Haydn, Shostakovich, Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story.

With months of dedication, commitment and practising during lessons as well as in their own time, these students proved more than worthy to play on a World Class Level.

Kiera Smith. Year 7:

“My experience at the Belgrade and in London was amazing. We performed four pieces with a group called Orchestras For All. The pieces were, La Rotta, Mambo, Waltz No.2 and Korebienki. Thank you to Mr Channer for taking us to London,we really enjoyed it”.

Sia Sharda, Year 7:

“It was an amazing experience being able to perform at the Belgrade Theatre and Cecil Sharpe House with the orchestra”.
