Barclays Bank Visit The Bridge To Teach Money Management Skills
Year 7 student Alli Issa said “I really enjoyed the lessons from Barclays Bank learning all about money. Now I know about bank accounts I will have a brighter future”
Barclays Money Skills is national programme that helps young people to develop and improve their financial skills, knowledge and confidence. The programme tackles topics such as opening a bank account, budgeting, saving and spending, and gives practical guidance on what to do if something goes wrong.
Bank staff facilitated sessions deliver material and resources aimed at helping students gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions. Practising Barclays colleagues are trained in delivering fun, interactive sessions on these basic money management topics using quizzes, games, role plays and discussion to focus on situations that students are truly able to connect with.
As a former student here at President Kennedy School, Craig Taylor a Senior Business Analyst, said “I am extremely proud to be delivering something back after having such a fantastic experience here myself. I owe my successful career to the dedication, skills and knowledge of the faculty staff and would encourage all students to apply themselves fully during their experiences within this outstanding learning environment. “
Who knows, in this Year 7 class may be the next Lord Alan Sugar!
