Outstanding GCSE Results Make Us Proud!

This year, yet again, President Kennedy School’s students have performed above expectation at GCSE and made outstanding progress. We expect that this set of results will again ensure President Kennedy School is one of the best performing schools in the country.

On average, in each subject, students have achieved approximately one grade higher than would be expected nationally. Students have performed well across the board, but we have seen a particularly impressive performance by our high attaining students.

The percentage of students achieving the top grades A* or A is well above national average for English and maths. 70% of students achieved a good pass (grade C or above) in English and maths.

In English, almost students secured a grade A*-C and 32% secured a grade A* or A compared to a national average of 15%.

In maths, 22% secured a grade A* or A compared to a national average of 16%.

In single sciences, over 20% of students secured a grade A* or A and in history, 27% of students secured a grade A* or A.

The percentage of students achieving top grades A* or A has risen dramatically in sociology and also in vocational subjects such as photography. A third of our Computer Science students achieved a grade A*or A.

Staff and students are extremely pleased with results across the board in both academic and vocational subjects.

66% of students achieved the important measure 5A*-C including English and maths which provides students access into the next stage of their education or training. This is an increase of 6% over last year which is especially pleasing given the introduction of the new, more difficult specifications for academic (EBACC) subjects.

This year group, is the first that have benefitted from entering President Kennedy School into ‘The Bridge’ at year 7.

Just a few of the stand out success stories include Muhammed Riaz who achieved 10A* grades, Manali Lakhani who achieved 5 A* grades and 5 A grades and Hannes Krabbe who achieved 10 A* or A grades and 1 B grade.

Our congratulations to all our students who have received their GCSE grades today. We are immensely proud of you all!
