Career Pathways Sessions guide our students to a Brighter Future

Students have been busy planning their career pathways this week, supported by sessions taking place in school.

On Monday, students from Years 9, 10, and 11 took part in sessions with Cambridge University focussed on Higher Education. Current University students gave our students an insight into how and why they chose their courses and the choices they made when applying to Cambridge. On Thursday morning, representatives from Barclays Life Skills came to work with Year 12 Maths students, the final session of 3. Barclays staff appraised students’ CV’s and provided advice regarding what employers are looking for when candidates write to them. Our students have gained a lot from the sessions and we hope to continue our excellent relationship with Barclays next year.

Keya Lad (a Year 12 Maths student) said, “Having input from actual employers was really helpful. From my one to one with my Barclays mentor I identified several things on my CV which would support my chances of gaining employment in the future and learning about different interview skills and styles helped too.”
