Year 7 Students Learn About Life at Birmingham University
This week, 30 year 7 students visited Birmingham University. Students met University Ambassadors who described what University life was like and how it compares and contrasts with studying at school. Our students engaged in a number of activities which provided a fun way to learn interesting facts about Birmingham.
Kashish Ladhar, a year 7 student commented, "we had a guided tour of the campus and saw the new library as well as the current one and the clock tower which apparently is even bigger than Big Ben! We also enjoyed a great lunch in the Students' Union. Later, we worked in teams to design our own university, and then presented our ideas to the rest of the group."
Alyx Lawson, also a year 7 student added, "it was a fantastic day and we all learned so much about university. A huge thank you to all the Birmingham University ambassadors who looked after us and told us so much about life as a university undergraduate. Many of us are now thinking about applying to go to Birmingham when we are older."
