Year 11's Relish Their First Rugby Tour!

On Saturday 13th February, the Year 11 rugby team made the trip to Gloucester for their first ever school rugby tour. We arrived at Kingsholm home of Gloucester RFC at 11am and began with a stadium tour.

The team then had a coaching session with a Gloucester Academy coach who challenged students to tidy up their defence. We then took part in a pitch parade before the Gloucester vs Harlequins game.

At night we went ten pin bowling, where Sam Dapaah turned out to be Kingpin, which won him a Wasps Match ball and Jai Ghataore finished last which meant he had to tidy up the changing room after Sunday's game. We then retired back to the hotel, where all the boys were tucked up in bed by 9pm after they had done a little bit of revision!!!!!

In the morning, we had the perfect preparation for a game, with an 'all you can eat breakfast'. We then made our way to Old Richians RFC to face one of the strongest teams in the Gloucester. The first half was a fantastic battle between the 2 teams which ended 0-0. The second half was a more one sided affair as our team tired. Congratulations to Mohammed Younis who was awarded man of the match and won himself a pair of Wasps shorts.

The journey home was very quiet as most of the boys were asleep, hopefully reflecting on what had been a fantastic weekend, where they had all been an absolute credit to themselves and President Kennedy School.
