Year 10 Students attend ‘Flying Balls’ STEM lecture

Year 10 students visited the Rugby Fanzone in Rugby town centre to listen to a STEM lecture entitled ‘Flying Balls’.

The lecture was given by Dr Hugh Hunt, Professor of Engineering at Cambridge University, Rob Eastaway, Professor of Mathematics and author of ‘The Hidden Mathematics in Sport’ and the legendary England Rugby player Paul Grayson (2003 World Cup Champion - pictured right).

The talk was really entertaining and revealed how mathematical topics including Vectors, Circle Theorems and Kinematics are relevant to the world of sport.
