Plas Dol y Moch - Expedition 2015 to Scotland

Year 11 students Karolina Tomanaite and Daniela Sergejeva completed a challenging programme during their time with students from other schools from Coventry whilst on the Plas Dol y Moch Expedition 2015 to Scotland. As a direct result of their positive involvement they achieved nationally recognised qualifications;
Royal Yachting Association Level 1 ‘Start Sailing’ Award
Royal Yachting Association Competent Crew Certificate
These qualifications verify that they can: sail in all directions, capsize and recover a dinghy, raise, trim and lower sails on a 70’s Sailing Training Vessel, steer a course, stand a night watch and anchor watch, take a bearing and complete an accurate entry in the ships log. Well done to both girls.
“The experience as a whole was amazing! The whole crew were so helpful to each other 24/7. But the most memorable moment was to swim in Loch Ness.” Karolina Tomanaite
