UNDEFEATED CHAMPIONS OF COVENTRY!

President Kennedy School’s Key Stage 3 girls are Champions of Coventry after winning the league title play off.

After running away with the West league, winning every game we were in a three way play off v Tile Hill Wood and The Westwood Academy at Coventry Sports Centre.

Drawn against Tile Hill wood, our girls took control from the start. Intelligent passing and moving resulted in Tile Hill Wood not able to cope with our dominance. Led by the calming influence of Kim Pfahler, the rebounding and dribbling by Zainab Balogun, dribbling and lay up skills of Alimat Balogun, it was clear our girls were determined to put on a show, and that they did! Sophia Sappleton, Jasmine Bromfield Sabrina Ide, Ellie Wilson and Amy McClelland all weighed in with baskets. Rebecca Akotia, Katie Lever, and Sasha Gill all made important contributions with their distribution and defensive skills.

We won this game President Kennedy 31-Tile Hill Wood 8.

We then played The Westwood Academy. Again, we dominated from the start. We disrupted their zonal defence with intelligent cuts to the basket and across the key by Katie Lever, Rebecca Akotia, Sasha Gill Amy McClelland and Jasmine Bromfield. Alimat Balogun Kim Pfahler, Zainab Balogun controlled the tempo of the game and scored some important baskets with Sabrina Ide, Ellie Wilson and Sophia Sappleton also scoring too.

Final score President Kennedy  26 - The Westwood Academy 7.

It is the first time the KS3 girls league has been played and President Kennedy School’s KS3 girls are the First Coventry Schools League Champions.
