Post 16 Students Meet MD

Tim Maccabee, Managing Director of Ducati UK, visited the school as a guest through the Speakers for Schools organisation, established by the BBC's Robert Peston. Tim presented to 80 students from KS3-KS5 about his role with Ducati and about careers in general.

Tim delivered a very informative presentation on careers in general and a small presentation on the development of Ducati since 1926 in Italy. The presentation was motivational and showed all the students that there are several career paths and that everyone should dedicate their time to doing things they have an interest in. Tim showed that it is important to do more than just settling for good grades; it is also important to take part in extra curricular activities. It is astonishing how Ducati developed from making simple merchandise, such as razor blades, to making large industrial motorbikes for which there is a huge place in the market. After the presentation was completed, Tim offered to stayed behind to discuss with students how economics links to Ducati’s UK business.
