Keely Explores Engineering

During the half term holiday year 11 student Keely, attended a ‘Young Women I Know’ course at Jaguar Land Rover in Solihull. Keely was privileged and over the moon to be accepted onto the course which was incredibly hard to get onto.

During the course Keely  engaged in lots of group activities with young women from different schools across Coventry and Warwickshire. I found out how the Land  Rover cars are assembled.  She was amazed at how quickly and how many were assembled in such a short timescale by workers and robots. Keely also visited many other sites including Gaydon where I had a go on the Land Rover Experience was shown how the technology worked.

Keely commented, "It was a great experience and it has shown me that women can be engineers and how more women are accessing engineering because of courses like this. It really gave me an insight  into what engineering was about and that there are many ways to get into this career".
