Green Fingered Bridge Students Get Gardening!

Enthusiastic Year 7 students recently embarked on a day of gardening to get the Bridge Garden back into shape.

Following the summer when the garden became a little bit overgrown, the students set to work led by Mr Bromfield.

Trees and hedges were cut back, the greenhouse and cold frame were tidied up, and the shed was also tidied and organised.

Plenty of back breaking digging and weeding took place allowing the students to get the garden in shape ready to start a proper planned programme of planting work including garlic, onions and broad beans which will all overwinter ready to flourish come the spring.

Throughout the day the students worked tirelessly. Not only did they enjoy the autumn sunshine, they connected directly with nature with frogs, worms and snails all in abundance plus they completed a very satisfying day of hard work.

Well done those students who got involved: Jawad Ahmad, Isabel Peters, Isa Khan, Daniel Webb, Kieran Brown, Hassan Hanif, Abigeil Dautaj, Emily Houston, Sonia Bashardoust, Sophie Shale, Chenille Maruta and Amber Norris
