Work Related Learning Awards
On the 22nd of May students and staff attended the annual Work Related Learning awards at The Welcome Centre, Parkside. The awards recognise and celebrate students’ hard work and achievements during their work based placements. Similar to a graduation, students are invited on stage to accept their certificate for achieving a range of qualifications.
Students who attended the evening included Demi Riley, Joanne Shoolbred, Emily McAndrews, Rema Lewis and Pawel Uhl accompanied by Miss Edmondson, our in-house Work Related Learning Co-ordinator, and Miss Johnson who manages our Personalised Learning Centre.
Congratulations to Pawel Uhl who was awarded a Special Award for 'Commitment to Learning' presented to him by Director of Education and Inclusion for Coventry, David Haley.
Miss Johnson commented: "Pawel has been attending 'Brakes' training for the last year and has shown he has a keen eye for mechanics. I am incredibly proud of the commitment Pawel has put into this placement; he has made the school proud by showing how focused he is on becoming a mechanic. I'm looking forward to seeing how he gets on next year on his apprenticeship that he has secured. I'd also like to thank Miss Edmonson for helping all the WRL students this year!"
