FA Qualified Football Activators

On Tuesday 25th April, five pre-selected President Kennedy School students attended “A game of our own” character camp at St Georges Park in order to complete their football activator training.

Sophie Shale, Casey Wells, Femke Vriesen, Sharon Boakye and Elizabeth Oduneye spent the day at the multi million pound complex used by both the male and female English national football teams alongside around 10 other Schools from across the country.

After the opening ceremony, which was kicked off by an inspirational speech from Emily Westwood, captain of Birmingham City Ladies football club, the students embarked on a full day of specialised football activator training.

The training day, provided the students with the necessary skills needed to deliver extra-curricular football sessions to their peers, with the ultimate aim of increasing girls participation in football. It gave them a chance to develop their leadership and communication skills as well as their own practical football skills. The football activators will be running football sessions after school for girls in the coming weeks. If you are interested in attending, please speak to one of our football activators for more information.
