Year 10 Boys Indoor Cricket Squad Become West Midlands Champions!

A massive congratulations to the Year 10 boys indoor cricket squad who became West Midlands Champions last Friday at Edgbaston.

A combination of excellent  aggressive batting and plenty of "scrambling" runs between shots together with economic bowling and deadly accurate fielding allowed President Kennedy Students to comfortably win three out of our 4 group games.

Next up was Erdington Academy  who had were comfortably seeing off their opposition and making a lot of noise about it! Erdington set us a target of 103 to win but a devastating spell of fast bowling ended our innings on 40. However, by then we knew we would meet them again in the final and so played a clever tactical game of letting them think they had the upper hand1.

The final was a very different affair with a devastating bowling /fielding performance restricting them to 60 all out. Erdington were devastated, they hadn't being under pressure before and they crumbled. A superb battling performance with the bat saw Saj Ali cap off his outstanding 41 not out by scoring the winning runs with two balls to spare.

A very special day which should make everyone at President Kennedy School proud. Well done boys!
